Hi everyone, as of this past Thursday I'm officially a class a holder. I've spent the past 3yrs running class b vac/hydrovac trucks. I was wondering if my prior experience has any significance as far as class a tanker is concerned, or am I essentially starting from the bottom again?

I think you'll be ok. Just take your time, wider slower turns, take plenty of time to slow down, drive to the conditions. Every new job has its learning curves but if your vac truck experience was anything like mine....hauling tanker is a piece of cake in comparison. Driving confidece will soon come. I started off hauling crude oil tankers in the oil patch as a green guy, iwas also a hydrovav/combo unit Op, now I'm loading explosives into the ground at a coal mine in the mountains. Not a bad gig. Good Luck
