Had a learning exp. this past week with one of the convoy's I mentioned a few pages back.
Rolling up US85 in Wyo., stopped for a "tire check", as I got back in two HUMMV's rolled past. 65 mph limit, they were only going 62. After a few miles I got tired of going 62 and passed them, BIG MISTAKE. What I didn't know was that that 5 miles ahead of me was the silo service truck convoy, and I was gaining on them a little too fast. About 2 miles back from the HUMMV's was a federal security forces pickup. Turns out, that Federal Protective Forces pickup has the authority to make a traffic stop, who knew, and ask you all kinds of questions, oh and they can have a look-see in your truck without a search warrant or your permission, they just ask you to step out of the truck and one of them steps in the truck.FoolsErrand and NavigatorWife Thank this. -

Early 90s I was up in Fargo/Moorhead area. There was offer for drives of nuke material. (medical uses) IIRC it was a hardened cab tractor. Also lead on rear of sleeper. Sleeper was a RV. You and co driver were (basicly) locked in for run. You did NOT get out of tractor enroute. Any breakdowns Police will be there PDQ even if you don't notify...
I decided I would rather buy a nightlight instead of being one.... Instead I got a job driving POV at $15 hr (portal to portal) and $.35 a mile (in 90s) Wish I would have done that more. -

It's not DOD, We do haul money, It's called "USAC, UNITIED STATES ARMORED CAR", DOD stands for "DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE", To run Usac here at Western, you must run team and have great credit, but there is a bigger back ground check
