Looking to become a truck driver. I am willing to do OTR for at least a year, and not extremely concerned about getting the best pay. I can pay for training myself and have a clean driving and criminal record. I have been working on a home business for a few years, but with the economy taking a crap I need to get a real job. Will anyone hire a person with bad credit?

Not once have I ever been asked about my credit. Shouldn't be a problem if you are going company.

CREDIT has nothing to do with driving.

The only issues you will have (based on your post), may be your record. Just be honest with the recruiters about it. DO NOT take the word of a school admin. They only want your money, and will tell you anything.

As far as being self employed. You will be asked for supporting documents. IE tax returns.
