I'd like to see some measurements. I doubt they can remove enough ash to make a difference. The ash acts like a soot magnet. -
My company has ours "blown out" when they start giving fits... Not sure what that means but it only costs a couple hundred dollars and can be back in the truck within a few hours. And I'm here to tell ya it makes a HUGE difference in how often it needs a parked regen, amount of codes, and fuel economy. Mine acted up really bad this last winter for about 6 weeks... Had this process done, not a single problem since.
fargonaz Thanks this. -
Soot isn't really the reason for needing the cleaning. High heat is supposed to catalyze the soot into less harmful gasses. The filter cleaning is to remove the ash, which can't be broken down. Ash is typically from wear materials and oil additives.

i have successfully cleaned dd15 dpfs. no need pressure washer. I have used nelson fireman nozzle on garden hose. my water supply line has 45psi pressure.
fargonaz Thanks this. -
I wouldn't wash them out with a pressure washer. Air hose at no more that 20 psi is what I would do.
