I thought it would I would start a thread for comments concerning the cleanliness and friendliness of the various truck stops/travel plazas that we as truckers use for our personal needs. Looking for both positive and negative comments.

I've never had a bad experience at Love's.
The worst was at an old 76 that was being converted to a TA in New Jersey where our waitress clocked out when her shift ended and failed to tell the waitress coming on duty that she had orders waiting. I was with my trainer and I looked out the window and saw her leave. The manager ended up having the cook redo our order and comped us the meal. -
Best truckstop Love's anywhere worst one Pilot in Castaic Ca none of the bathrooms had toilet paper and they all had floaters and the smell oh god...I told the cashier dude and he just goes yea yea and dismissed my complaints.

I was in the Pilot at Van horn, TX the other day for a shower and it was not cleaned b4 I went in. Told the manager and his excuse was they were busy and didn't have time to clean it. I asked him why then was the shower available and he told me if I didn't like it to go to the Love's down the street. I told him that was a poor attitude to have concerning his services to drivers, his reply was "whatever".

Somehow I have managed to not ever go to the TA North Chicago right there at the Ill/Wis. line since I have been driving. Found myself stopped there friday night and considering the close proximity to a major city I expected the worst and was pleasantly surprised. The lot was pretty clean, restrooms were clean, shower was above average the store area was clean and the restaurant was clean and my waitress was very accomodationg and friendly. beat the crap out of every pilot I have been to recently. This has more or less been my experience with most TA's since i have returned to the road. Far superior chain of truckstops compared to pilots. As mentioned above by others, I also tend to have pretty decent experiences at Loves.
