I can’t for the life of me remember what the lowest clearance in the travel lanes is on 78 in PA. I’m 13’11” and the gps is telling me to take the PA turnpike to Carlisle. I don’t want to go out of the way, but if I’m gonna hit a bridge then obviously I’ll do it. Can anybody help me on this one?

But if you are excessively tall you need to look into oversize... or over height etc.
I have NOT repeat NOT been current on particular overpasses for decades so I cannot offer you that here.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -

On 78 in PA you'll be fine at 13'11". They've replaced all the overpasses over the highway, and I believe they are now 15'.
x1Heavy and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
There's at least 2 14' overpasses on I 78 might be one lower.

Invest in a truckers atlas, all low bridges and restricted routes are listed for each state.Wicked Wizard, interpreter, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.

I need to go buy a new one, the one I have at the house is WAY outdated. I never carried a GPS in the truck til this year. I got out of the habit of carrying it because at my former employer we were routed terminal to terminal and the rare occasions I had to jump off their route it was just for a short jaunt to avoid a wreck. 13’6” tall doubles so no real worries about height.runningman0661 Thanks this.

I ended up taking the GPS route down 222 to the turnpike. No issues. Thanks for the responses though!
Cabinover101 Thanks this.
