Thanks amwest. That does answer quite a bit actually. Im a little disapointed seeing so much north east in there. Where do you all usually load out of saint louis? You get to many dcs or just mom and pop type places to unload? How is routing? A few miles off or many miles off what the load really is? Truck is set to 65, right? It idles all the time, correct? I was told you would get reefer loads and dry van loads to help avg 3000 a week.. How far have you been off from that? What all benefits does the company allow?

Since they are in MO everything is loaded around there, we go all around MO to pick our loads up off of I-70. They have an account with Dollar General and Hershey, we don't go to any mom and pop places, the only DC we have gone to is WalMart, Sams club, Dollar General and Hershey's. Routing is pretty much you choose which way, dispatch sends a route but we use our GPS. We get paid for every mile, loaded and unloaded, and I double check our statements and everything is there. We have APU on our truck so no need to idle and it keeps you WARM, lol. As far as miles go we've been here 2 months and this is the least we've gotten I'm assuming holidays they said they'd go down, we have just over 2100 for the week. Not sure what you mean by what benefits do they allow?

Yeah, my silly phone. I meant, what benefits are offered? 401k, profit sharong, insurance, yearly bonus, christmas bonus, idle bonus?? Sorry i did not eleborate earlier! Im set to come out monday.. So ill report what i can. Talked to karen and she said my running areas and hometime would be more to my liking since i live in poplar bluff mo. Thanks so much amwest for all your info! You said you guys run dollar general and hersheys? Do you go to DG stores or just del to dcs?

As far as the benefits go the insurance doesn't start until your 90 day probation is up so honestly we don't know anything about it, we don't even know what insurance carrier they have, I know they offer 401k after 6 months of employment. No idling bonus because they have the APU on the trucks. There is a safety and performance bonus, driver of the month and driver of the year and recruiting bonus. The Hershey and dollar general are distribution centers, they have you in and out, drop and hook. Hope that helped, you'll learn anything I missed at orientation. Everyone in the office is really nice, Karen is great, and so is Rob in safety. Good luck, let us know how it goes for you!

Yeah, i like to get my information ready before i go. I appreciate all the questions. I have a few more for you and i promise ill be done. How does the truck pull? Do the trucks have a air suspension gauge? Is the truck set to 65 mph? Thanks!
-
Yes the truck is set at 65, truck pulls good has the D-13, and no on the air suspension gauge. Sorry we didn't answer yesterday, out of the truck on our 34. If you think of anything else before tomorrow just ask, if not good luck in orientation and we'll see ya out there!

Day 2 was basically the same BS. company policies, sign all the paperwork, and meet the driver managers. Tomorrow will be satelitle comunications training and get our trucks. I will keep posting as I go for all the drivers that are interested. I learned a lot about the running lanes and hometime today so if it happens I will be rather happy. We will see. They say it will be good with me living in Dallas area.
