I have no problems climbing a tanker, or using catwalks. But when I pull a 53' dry van and need to unload to the ground, either they can lift me up on the forklift or they can unload it themselves. It's always their choice. :)

At 61, I can still climb up there, but I no longer want to or need to. If I'm up there, I can also still pull 24 one ton pallets to the tail in 20 minutes.

Our trailers have nothing to step up on or anything. Dangerous in my opinion, but I’m very careful. I had a friend years ago with sweeping out the back of a trailer and wasn’t paying attention to where he was at. He stepped off the back of the trailer and fell straight back and hit his head on a steel pillar and was in a coma for three months and suffered permanent brain damage.

We sweep out our trailers between washes. If I was the company CEO, i’d add some kind of step up or something to these trailers because there are an accident waiting to happen.

You are in far better shape than many people 1/2, 1/3, to 1/4 your age. That's fantastic.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

h, I still get called out by Whole Foods have to jack the pallets off the trailer, I find it no big deal at 65, but some of the young'ins cry a little.pallets average about 2200 or so. But There I ride a gate up and down. or bump a dock.

I don't sweep trailers, if it dirty they can pay for a wash, its not my trailer so its not my problem.

Exactly, but you know how things happen, A friend of mine was a tower/repeater tech for a Motorola Service Center "Gary B", anyway after over ten years of mountain top serve, he was putting up Christmas light on his house, standing on a short 4' stepladder, slipped hit his head and died, Great guy. Anyhow he was the guy who taught me to climb towers ( rope higher worker).

I'm not sure what's funnier...you saying that, or me actually getting the reference.

    lol.

Flying/levitating truckers would be a trip.

I could see the posts now...'Guys, I was at the pump, trying to fuel up and this dude from Hogwarts trucking is just stting on the pump in front of me, floating taking his 30. Pretty sure he was wearing flip flops and brown robes."
