Thank you for the info! I am really liking what May had to say on their website. Nice that they have a yard in Nashville as well as Oregon. The PNW is really nice would not mind calling that home.

Once you get 6 months experience think about A&R Logistics. They have a loading facility in Las Vegas. Good money there; $62K - $72K per year. Sometimes you don't need any experience if you drove in the Army and graduated from a 160 hr. cdl school.
Houses/condos are affordable in Las Vegas/Henderson.
www.propertyvegas.com helped me buy a nice home in Seven Hills gated community. -
I will look into A&R as well. They look like a really good outfit. It seems that there are many options for drivers out there. I like that this industry offers a wide variety of jobs to choose.
I will be staying as far away from intermodal as possible. Dispatching these owner operators to and from the port I am not sure how they are able to make money. The turn times are very slow and cheating logs is common place. -
Why not move to TN? You would be in a great area for trucking. I grew up in San Jose and now live in GA and love it. I am near Fort Benning. Did 7 years in the Army. I know you said PNW but Smoky Mountains are nice too.

Always Western Express...which has a terminal in Nashville.
May Trucking don't have direct deposit by the way.
I'm thinking of either May or Western. Can't decide between Dry or Reefer. -
I actually thought of western express but was concerned because of their reputation. I wouldn't mind doing flatbed but I am worried I will not be able to make much money there.
The tough part of passing on western is the terminal is off Briley parkway which is 4 miles from my parents house. -
I almost went with Jim Palmer but for recent grads they require you to sign a contract for 1 year otherwise if you leave within that year, you pay the training costs. They seem good though with new facilities and nice trucks. They share terminals with Wil-Trans.Last edited: Mar 6, 2016

May has direct deposit. Not unless something changed regarding that. Pretty easy to verify with a phone call.

You can direct deposit straight from comdata to your bank account I imagine.
