It's not perfect but overall way better than I thought it'd be. I'm off the blood pressure medication now.

Welp, maybe you will give a TTR debrief in a year or so. Always good to know of the great places to work.

No that won't happen I'm not advertising for anybody. It really doesn't matter I think most of us guys that have been doing this a while know where good jobs are.

Winding things down and parked at delta Ohio for the night as I read about fuel to the moon and rates in the toilet.....well not here ! .....the lot is full of big Pete's idling away like fuel is free lol.
Fuel jumped like hell Friday night and I haven't many slowing down either .

My NASTIC prices are to the moon. Show prices higher than pump. (I pay pump price then) That usually happens a few days/a week or so before prices jump above the current Nastc price. That price is about 60 cents above pump price in MN, IA, and MO. So maybe a dollar higher to come??? Mid east conflict expansion fears, loss of oil infrastructure investments, and climate change “climate” are not our friends.

Shoot if prices do go up to 5 plus, I may do some fishing or do a short unexploded ordnance gig. At a certain point, I’ll let my equipment sit and not wear it all out just to barely break even. Call it slow season.

I don't know how some of these guys hanging on by a thread are doing it. These ones needing a 30% fuel advance will only get a half a tank in some places with the low line-haul rates. I assume they are just up in their eyeballs in credit card debt.

You are right. It’s been happening. I do have a heart for them. Even though they are my competitors, pulls on the heart strings. I know many will disagree with me…. But, don’t borrow money that you don’t have. So, if you need a loan for a truck… you probably shouldn’t buy one. If you have the money to buy a truck but not much afterwards, get the loan. A business needs money. Lots of it. Wishful thinking is not a business plan for success. Fortunately, rates will get better when unfortunately, guys close shop. The guys with money will be fine. The companies that overextend themselves will not.
On your credit card remark, it will be interesting how much debt will keep going to collections in this economy.

The thing that's pissing me off right now is that it's the mid size carriers that are failing, not the fly by night "1099 employers". Small companies that have been built up over time with hard work and sacrifice but are being undercut by new entrants that chased the money right into the pooper.
