This is an old thread but once an AS#hole always an AS#hole. You go ahead with that payment and the pollution BS and also your FORCED ELOGS, Ill be enjoying my freedom from payments, freedom from the pollution BS, and beings my truck was built in 2000 I will not need ELOGS, enjoy your truck.....

Or just plug the truck in and see what's commanding the fan to come on.
Could be A/C high pressure side, air intake temp or water temp.

My guess faulty wiring or a sensor on any of those 3 things

Actually unless I'm wrong or didn't understand it correctly. It is any 2000 or newer truck has to have Elogs. So unless your truck is a 99 or older you my friend have to run Elogs .

You can bet that anyone that has a truck old enough to still run paper logs that the DOT will be on them like flys on you know what .

I would think it would be the opposite. those with paper logs can make things look how they want & the d.o.t. will have a hard time to prove different. that's why the need by the gov,to go to e- logs. now on all trucks 2000 or newer. the d.o.t. know's, they better have things in order, cause no hiding or manipulating if not.

Did you find what the problem was?
I can drive mine for days without a problem so I doubt it could be a bad wiring connection, then all of a sudden temp gauge drops to zero and fan will come on and will stay on until temperature gauge reads normal termperature again! Just wierd.

I changed ecm on my Fld 1995 Detroit 12.7
Instead of ddec3 I put ddec4 reprogramed to work as ddec3 . My fan is always on. Is it ecm or maybe some wiring issues? I had to change fuse plug and ring terminal for ecm power supply in order to start the truck. There are two ecm ground wires coming to the batteries that I put new ring terminal too. And truck started and works ok, but fan is on. What is the most probable case that causing it? Ecm not programmed well or something else
