Do you see air lines or electrical lines going to the fan clutch? That'll tell you whether you have a pneumatic or viscous fan clutch.

Air lines. Electrical lines only from the selonoid. Wish it was a viscous fan called on that they told me they don't make a viscous fan the Detroit, only for the Mercedes engine. Only getting 4 volts at the selonoid so there's a bad wire somewhere.
-
At the end of your wire hunt you may find nothing is what I'm getting at. Ya know? -
So what do you think it can be ? When we removed the relay and installed a jumper wire we got air coming out of the selonoid but fan didn't release.

If is a Borg Warner they tend to freeze locked up if not used in awhile. Put shop air to it and tap it with a hammer.
Goodysnap Thanks this. -
I put about 120 psi to it sprayed it and put a hammer to it and same ####. I think I should replace the clutch fan and go from there.

I'd be looking at the fan clutch itself. Is it a Borg Warner? Those have a friction disc in them which is supposed to get replaced before it gets worn too far. If it gets to a point where it's flush, then it gets to be pretty hard on the fan clutch itself.

Well I'll replace it and go from there. Thanks.
