Go back to Post # 26. You quoted a post I made and your response was HUH?

I guess 43 years in allows me to flesh this one out. To keep it simple, the use of double clutching is in direct proportion to the weight and importance of the shift. The heavier the load, the lower the speed, the more likely I am to double clutch. Or, if I miss this one, how many pieces of transmission case(or drive shaft) are going to be on the pavement.
Must be working. The truck you see in the avatar has almost 2 million miles, transmission has never been opened up, 2 clutches, one at the installation of the reman engine, one to fix the rear main seal.

Can someone tell me where to send my man card? :p

I decided to test on the automatic Freightliner Cascadia, a former Werner truck. Psssh! A million times easier. No regrets because every major trucking company is moving to automatics, and I can see why.

If in a couple of years I step out on my own, there should be enough autos on the used truck market that I can find what I need.

Worse case, I pay $300 and test on a standard when the time comes.

    I’m having fun now!
