So the clutch is new? Need to make sure the hydraulics are working like mentioned. I wonder if they never removed and resurfaced the flywheel, or got it all dirty during assembly. If it was recently replaced, find out who did it and try to take it back and see if they can do anything for you. If you are stuck with it, before you replace it, there is a burn in procedure you can try. Not everyone agrees with this, but we have done this many times with great success. Get it so it starts to slip and then increase the rpm to keep it slipping for a good 20 seconds, then let off. This will burn off any impurities and burnish the mating surfaces.

Hope you get that fixed. I am wondering, mayby Im behind the times, but why are manufacturers putting in hydraulic clutches? Just so they push easier? If so why don't they just refigure the linkage better. My 2001 pete pushes so easy. With the easy pedal eaton clutch.

I've heard of people doing that, but I wouldn't want to be held responsible for anything other than taking care of business as the truck isn't mine. Lol
I was wondering about the flywheel myself but he's already going to change the master cylinder when I get back into town to do my 34. But I do appreciate your input and advice..

I agree on the switching from mechanical clutch system's. Much easier and less hassle.

When the hose going to the slave cylinder fails, it usually fails internally and turns into a check valve. Which means that you can pump fluid through it when you depress the clutch, but when you let off the clutch, the hose will not let the fluid flow back out of the slave cylinder. Change the hydraulic hose.

    Less maintenance, easier to repair.

Hydraulics are nicer to push. On Internationals, there is an air assisted option as well and pushing is really effortless. I agree, this is just another way to unnecessarily over complicate trucks when other tried and true methods have worked great for many years. Engineers need to justify their existence you know, LOL!

I've also brought that up to my boss. I'm very familiar with check valve system's as I used to work in the oil fields on drilling rigs for about 8yrs. His uncle told him the same thing but I'll find out what he's going to do in about 2 day's.

Update on truck. Well look's like I was right. I was the slave cylinder that was bad. Mechanic tried telling my boss that it was the fork and needed to drop tranny, that clutch is going to wear soon. I told my boss that mechanic is full of it, he's trying to make extra cash. I explained how the hyd. System works. So he actually listened to me and fixed the problem. :)
