My truck just hit 200k and i have noticed over the last few weeks my shifter rattles when in a pull or at certain speeds. Drives me nuts and is getting worse.
I did tighten all of the screws on the shifter but no help.
Now i noticed when parked at an idle or stopped at a light i get a humming like vibration in the steering column and floor.
If i push the clutch all the way to the floor it goes away.
It has become harder to get it into to gear at a stop too.
Also at an idle out of gear you can hear a random tinging or clattering sound from the bell housing.
So,clutch going bad or trans problems?
Wonder if a clutch adjustment would help.
Any advice? Thanks!

You should definitely have this inspected to at least make sure nothing is coming loose, like anything between the engine or transmission back there. You may have a rear engine mount that is torn or split. There was an issue with engine noise coming through the clutch linkage into the cab/floor as you described. There is an updated clutch linkage for that issue. Also the swivel joints in the clutch linkage do and can get seized up which will cause all your symptoms. But for sure take in after Christmas and see if you need a clutch adjustment and show the tech the noise you're talking about.

I would check the mounts and the trans to engine mounting bolts, but more than likely a failing clutch release bearing, springs loose and exiting the clutch discs or broken center plate drive lugs.

Thanks much guys! The funny thing is the clutch grabs fine and has about the same travel in the pedal as usual.
I have a Florida run to do then i will have time to get it by the shop.
I hope it holds together for another 1700 miles!
I will let the shop know about the updated linkage too,Thanks HeavyD... -
To update and thanks again guys!
They checked it over and found nothing wrong. They greased all the linkage and said they greased the release bearing.....noise was gone but is starting to come back.
I wish i had crawled under it to see what all they greased so i can do it myself.
The shifter rattle was gone too but is starting back again.... -
Common problem w/ the pro stars. Take it to an international dealer. They should know how to fix it. I remember when I was working for an IH dealer when these trucks first came out. We tried all kinds of odd stuff to the clutch release rod. The IH tech support guys were having us weld all kinds of weights to the rod and what not.
EZ Money Thanks this. -
You have to remember though, when a truck is under warranty we can't just do what ever we want to fix it. This is really frustrating sometimes, but if we don't do what International wants we don't get paid! Warranty doesn't pay very much in the first place, so you really can't branch away from what they want too far to help the customer. I would ask your dealer to get in contact with their local Eaton rep and International warranty/customer service rep and see if they will go for a ride with you in the truck to feel the vibration. Something further might get done!

Heavy is right, use the powers that be and go up the ladder. Although extremely frustrating. If they ever see something done that is out of the normal realm of warranty work then your stuck.

Thanks for the input guys...
The local Dealer just sucks! The last time i was there the truck was parked on the lot for 5 days and never put in a bay.
I think i will live with it for now and hit another dealer out on the road.
I have a few days off this week so i will get under it and grease it again.
That is a short term fix anyway. It lasts about a week or two before it starts rattling and vibrating again. -
I see it looks like a common problem. What is the problem exactly?? Is it in the adjustment not staying right? Release bearing sheding its grease to quickly? Could it be in the adjustment rod angles? This problem is intriguing. Although we don't have any of these, I would like to hear what is actually happening here.
