Clutch, When at a red light do you wait in neutral or in gear?

It allows traffic to flow from all 4 directions twice, before giving the person in the left turn lane a green.

then when the light turns green, i re-start my truck, and put the trans in LL..
by the time i am thru, everyone else has to stop....
kinda depends, at most lights i have to stop at, i can see the changes of the lights.
sometimes, if they are long lights, i put it into neutral, if they are quick lights, i leave it in gear.
but on my route, i am lucky, that i am on main roads/streets, and late at night, the streets i am on, the lights stay green nearly forever.
it's only when some driver, in front of me, stops his truck, pulls his brakes, shuts his engine off, and eats his lunch and reads the newspapers, that i have to hope i don;t get caught at another turn of the lights. -
In gear. Never know when you may have to move in a hurry. Many of the trucks I drove had worn clutch brakes, so if in neutral, you'd have to grind to get into 1st, so before I stopped rolling, I'd put it in gear. The Mack R model I drove had a stiff clutch, which is why I rarely used it. It took both feet to keep it on the floor at a light.

I did a lot of city driving and on surface streets. With a super tanker in town (gross110,000lbs) you try to time the lights if you can. A lot of checking the opposite cross walk sign and making sure the light is not stale. If I had to stop it depended on that light if I went into neutral or not. Also it made a big difference if the clutch brake worked or not.
