In gear ready to go. Always power to the drives ready at a moment's notice. Foot service brake and ready to move the instant we get green.

Neutral … just watch the cross lights. When they go to yellow, put it in gear and you're ready to go when the light changes.

In traffic = in gear, keep the flow moving.

Just me = usually neutral. My clutch brake works perfect and only takes a second to get in gear.

I was training this girl from USX one time and we were sitting at a long red light. She said her leg was killing her so I told her to put it in neutral. She said it was in neutral.lol I was dying. I told her to get off the clutch. With a heavy sigh she said OMG thank you.

    Jist fyi..
It's illegal to disengage the drive train unless your "parked" or shifting gears.

I'm in gear, Foot on brake, ready to move if I need to.

    Numb Thanks this.

In gear for a road test or license test. In the real world neutral.

I can't cite a rule or law to backup @SniperP229 but I think such state laws like Georgia's 40-6-246 is where that comes from. Honestly, I don't think it applies in that stopped situation.

    2010 Georgia Code
TITLE 40 - MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
CHAPTER 6 - UNIFORM RULES OF THE ROAD
    ARTICLE 11 - MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
    § 40-6-246 - Coasting

    O.C.G.A. 40-6-246 (2010)
    40-6-246. Coasting

    (a) The driver of any motor vehicle when traveling upon a down grade shall not coast with the gears or transmission of such vehicle in neutral.

    (b) The driver of a truck or bus when traveling upon a down grade shall not coast with the clutch disengaged.

    JReding Thanks this.
