All this is my normal daily thing. Except maybe work boots and camo shorts. But it’s work try to hide the dirt. Just like to do my job get my pay and go home. I’ll come right out and say don’t care if I make friends or enemies at work. Only care about my money. But that’s to simple.
Co drivers, what’s your relationship like with your dispatcher?

That’s your uniform.
The absolute best pilot car I’ve ever gotten to work with drove this minivan that was turned into a sort of camper. He had the same button shirts and Dickey pants dry cleaned and hanging up, probably 14 of each.
After meeting him, I took a page from his book. I started buying all the same shirts and pants, and take the time to fold my laundry fresh out of the dryer.Sons Hero, Walk Among Us, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this. -
Same here. My favorite shorts can’t find anymore. Grey sleevless fruit of the loom shirts. 6 bucks at Walmart. Used to buy a bunch every year.TripleSix and RockinChair Thank this.

The company snitches are a big one... I've noticed that after coming from working for myself and going back to being a company hand, I've ran into a couple of those guys.. I got called in because I got out of my truck without my hard hat working a jobsite with another driver... mind you I keep my hard hat in my side box and have to get out to open it up to get my hat. That's all it was..I guess some drivers think that kinda stuff moves them up the ladder or something.
I'm like u, don't talk to any driver other than to say whats up . Ain't trying to be friends. just out here to make money and go home. -
We are dispatched by AI now so...

I always tell new guys at my terminal to watch your fifth wheels in the yard, especially if they’re doing an typically easy run that was never put up for bid. In this line of work, if anyone will pull your fifth wheel it will be a coworker and it will happen in the yard.JolliRoger, Sons Hero, TripleSix and 4 others Thank this.

How fun is that? We are as well to a point. Dispatch chooses where the load is going, and AI chooses the load rack it’s coming out of. So far it’s chosen 3 times to load at a rack with a load number that doesn’t exist.
-
Not too well but who am I to question AI.
Sent me to an uphill dump out that is specifically prohibited from anything bit a first stop..I did as instructed and brought back 25% of the load..lol
They've taken control from the driver for logging and keeping track of what you've done, the ability to control the rig, whether it's eld's or automatic transmissions or all the "safety bs" and now you want us to fix your AI dispatch problems...I don't think so.
We have been the guinea pigs and the R&D department too long.
So I got where the almighty powers tell me to go even if I know it's a wasted trip.Lumper Humper, Sons Hero, RockinChair and 3 others Thank this. -
In the before time, the long long ago, before there were cameras everywhere, dime-droppers were often "aggressively educated." I miss the old days.
