Tennessee has no personal income taxes.
Here's some more companies that don't run Northeast.
    Dodge City Express
    South-East Carriers - Lawrenceburg,TN - runs west coast.
VanKampen Trucking - runs west coast/pacific northwest
    Beacon Transport - Nashville,TN
    K&B Transportation
    A&A Express - Brandon,SD
Call and ask if they hire from any of the "no personal income tax" states and also ask about freight lanes.

Danny Herman Trucking is now at the top of my list. I've been googling and reading about them ever since you posted this. What I've run into however is that they do not hire out of Arkansas even though they run heavily through here via 1-40, 1-30. Why would they not hire out of Arkansas?

You need to live in an area where the carrier regularly does drops and/or pickups. They prefer drivers not go home while under a load or live far from a terminal or major freight hub [for them]. I suspect Arkansas is mainly just a "pass-through" state for DH

If you haven't done so give them a call you never know they might bring you on.

This looks to be a great company on many levels. I'm highly mobile, residentially speaking, and would move to TN if necessary... and it's a non-personal income tax state.

I actually did call, but did so prior to discovering they do not hire out of Arkansas. I even mentioned that I live here and the recruiter (very nice lady) said nothing about not hiring from here. But a Truckers Report thread from 2016 included a link which indicated AR not on the DHT hiring area list. I will certainly call her back. Thanks.

Hauling produce would get you to Yuma Arizona and Bakersfield during the winter time at during the summer time it would get you to Salinas California and occasionally you can get apples out of Wenatchee Washington all headed straight back to the southeast corner.

East Tennessee is a beautiful area and that's where Danny Herman headquarters is, if you decide to relocate.
