Well last Friday I recieved my Orientation packet via UPS and today I am leaving out to hook up to a Step Deck and get back on the road.

I hit some good luck during this down time, but now my pockets says I better hit the road and make some money. $650.00 for headache rack, 10 Chains, 10 Binders, and 15 straps.

I already been talking to Dispatch since Thursday, and sounds as we will be getting along fairly well.

See Ya back out on the Road today, and start working on my next Goal.

I think he was going with mercer. OOPS I did some back paddling and seen where he changed his mind. I was wrong.. well; I was right. then he zigged instead of zagging...

Yes Cheetah. They are part of Great Wide.

Yes I had intended on going with Mercer, but the Hazmat requirement turned me away. I am not going to ask an Employee do what I do not want to do, and with Mercer I would have to have someone else driving due to having to tarp. With Cheetah, I will not have to. May lose a load or 2 but not forced to tarp.

I am not familiar with the term own authority. Could you please explain?
I am going to trucking school next week and my goal is to eventually become an O/O. I am really enjoying this tread!
And thank you for your service!

Jim, Having own authoruty is where you are the Company it self. You find your own loads either by your own contracts or via a broker. Best way to go if you have the money set aside for fuel, all your insurance, and able to wait to be paid while you bill the customer. Read through this website and you will hear much more and learn more about it.

Thanks, Yes I mostly just nervous about it, something I never done before. It only about 2 inches pass my rub rails on each side. I have the flags, and oversize banners, but no strobe lights. Someone told me with that minor of over hang I may not need the lights.

The load was paying 2.92 per mile, but since it been loaded and found out it going to need permits it going up some. Picking up in Cross Lane WV going to Salem VA.

Yes I have the banners and flags, but going to buy newer ones cause the ones I have look bad even just rolled up. I want to have what I need before I go back and rehook to the load.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.
