Well much a night rest can do. I was feeling bad yesterday. After a nights rest which was not much I am feeling better. I read more on the new Job, and it is scary. Fees and fines all over the place, and even states if you leave in a hurry they will not pay what owed to you. So I think it best I stay where I am at. If I can stop GreatWide from canceling my contract. But I will ask to switch over to Dry Van, May not pay as much, but I can least get better loads and more of them.
I wanted to do Flatbed or Stepdeck for the higher rates, but what I seen not much difference in the pay or more work and same pay as Vans. I'll leave the headach rack on and soon as I can get a second truck and put someone in this and do Flatbed but whom can Tarp.

Good luck keeping your contract. I've seen a lot of great wide trucks in Florida doing wal mart dedicated runs with vans. Maybe you can get in on one of them.
Roncoastie Thanks this. -
Mission Complete I save it. Guess it helped the Terminal manger and my Dispatcher both likes me..
But I will be moving to another Division with Great Wide. Pulling either Dry Van or Reefer. The Challenger, ampm wayne and Gears Thank this. -
Glad to hear you'll be pulling something a little more manageable. Keep your chin up!

I like to think I am not a quitter, just adjusting my operations to make money. I think alot about Larry my Dispatcher and Nemo(sp) who is the terminal manger. Larry has gone to bat for me along with Nemo. Could not ask for a better boss than that other than my self.Last edited: Jan 11, 2010

Sounds like van or reefer will be a better fit - chaining and tarping loads isn't for everyone. It doesn't look so bad until it's freezing cold with snow blowing, and you're up a ladder perched on the deck of the trailer with a tarp on your shoulders. Personally I've always felt it should pay double, or the customer should be required to tarp it if they want it covered. Good luck, and it sounds like you've got a decent shot at some good loads. Keep your chin up, and your tail to the wind!

well here I still wait. No load again today. But did have a little fun. Watched my 2 little Puppies chase a Roadrunner and lose. Lucky for my Truck they did not play as the Coyote and tried using some gun powder... Beep Beep...
If you hadn't heard there is a young lady running across America for the Truckers. Well I had the privilege of seeing her run by here yesterday.. Gooo JazzzzzHwyPilot Thanks this. -
Wyle E. Coyote........... Super.......... Genius....... Ka-BOOM
Yep, if you get a package from ACME - do NOT give it to your dogs *heheh*
A lady running across the US for the truckers? You don't say. That sounds cool, I'll have to search around on the web and see if I can find anything on it. We could use all the help we can get -
Are you waiting for a van or reefer pull?
