When I pass an OD I am hugging or even over the yellow line to give them the extra space. If a narrow bridge coming up soon, I'll back out of it till there is room.

We read on here many times the Old Traditions are gone, the Kindness is no more and Truckers helping Truckers has ended. I never thought so my self, just not seen as much. I am sitting at the T/A Truck Stop west of Indianapolis IN and was in eating breakfast. After I finished eating I went to pay for it, and after seeing the Waitress putting the bill on the table, my bill was missing. The Waitress had grabbed it. Turned out the Driver I spoke to told her to and he paid for my meal.
Well my Saga continues.
You run hard making your appointments, not giving the Dispatcher fits, and do what your asked to do. Wouldn't you want to get paid for doing your Job?
Getting treated good is great, but if Pay does not show up 2 weeks in a row, it time to look again. Job searching again. But Not going to quit till I have landed another Job.HwyPilot Thanks this. -
You're kidding? No money?? Ouch!
-
I wish I was kidding. Gee I have to come up money to pay for a logbook Violation by Tuesday. -
Well I was looking into a company to lease on to, and it seemed to be good for me till I read the requirements. All good till the last of the list, NO LOGBOOK VIOLATION IN THE LAST 30MONTHS. Well I screwed my self out of that job.

Coastie are you pulling a flat?

One of the things that has helped me a great deal is not accumulating receipts (other than those ###### toll booths, and shippers who love to put time and date on the bol after delaying me for 7 to 14 hours). I roll self-contained, microwave and fridge/freezer, and try to keep my tanks full (300Gal) to prevent records issues.
Sorry to hear that you're not making it yet, my numbers haven't been great either - mostly getting sent into areas with nothing coming out and running the ridiculous cost of fuel (even with some decent mpg figures). Have you thought about (and I know this blows) parking your truck for awhile and driving a company truck? I've thought about this more than a few times in the last few months. I bought my own truck to be able to take some down-time when I could afford to, and so far I've never been able to afford to..... -
arent you running reefer now hwypilot
-
Les2 No I done with Flatbeds No money there. Currently pulling a Dry Van
Hywpilot, It was an all out Violation, they had me cold turkey for I got dumb and did not have it updated. To much of a hurry to get there to touch my log book, and so I got what I deserved. It was at the weight station near Winchester VA. The lettering on my Truck what caught their attention to inspect me, they could not see it. The Company sent me Dark Green lettering to go on a Blue truck. Been changed now to white lettering.
I will be looking for a company that deals with Reefers to lease on to next. I was trying to get on with a reefer when these guys called. Someone sent me a phone number to a company but I need my own tag and trailer. I still do not have the money for it. -
I didn't figure flats would be good in your area but wasn't sure. I was gonna try the reefer thing but the guy who owned the trailer I was gonna use got busy and then I got busy so that idea went out the window. Plus I think his trailer was gonna be to heavy.
