Getting my own authority been my goal ever since I came back out Trucking. Yes I know it not easy, lots of Hard work and more headachs. But one thing for sure, if the load is to pay me after Broker fees 1500.00 I would get the 1500.00. Not have the problem of Oh it pays you this much but even after we take our share above the 1500.00 you were suppose to get we are going to take all this too from what your suppose to get.

But do not worry, I been beaten any way. I'm thinking serious of coming off the road anyway. After the 6 days down cause of the gout, getting DOT 4 times running till my health is way down, and having nothing to show for it, I throwing in the towel. Wished I gotten the Frieghtliner, Pete's always been a curse to me.

Sign up for an easy company driver gig, take it easy, make some money and plan your next move. You seem to be jumping from one frying pan to another. Good luck Coastie.

Not sure what you're comfortable with as freight goes, but quite a few fleets are 2 pedal automatics. Don't bother disclosing why you'd like one - that's too much information unless you have to. Good luck, and the best to you!

Well I am looking into 2 different directions. One with a local Company, and one out of Memphis. Both I wil put a driver in the truck, and I will stay home and sell on Ebay...

Putting another driver in your truck will only bring you more trouble and headache. To be blunt, if you couldn't make it work why will another driver in the same truck that has no financial obligations to it. Sometimes it has to be said, if you like it or not. Man, you have to stop making poor decsions and get back on your feet.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you're going to hire a driver as an independent 1099 contractor - and then treat him like an employee. It's going to take the financial resources necessary to support employment to order his comings and goings.
