Have I made bad Choices before? Yes, but I am not giving up. But there a difference in making a bad choice and not doing something about it, or doing something about it.

    Bad Choices,

1 Buying the Pete, Not good on Fuel. Yes I should have gotten the Columbia. Stuck with the Pete for now till I can afford to get another truck and sell the Pete or turning it into a 10 Wheeler which is the plan.. Repo is OUT OF THE QUESTION..... That would be a Really Bad Choice.

    2. Leasing on to Great Wide, Yes, Corrected by leaving.

    3. Leasing on to Leanards, Yes Corrected by Leaving them.

Next Step Leasing on to a local Company. Yes I will have another Driver in it, but will see the truck every week, for it will be coming in to be reloaded. After all expenses, (Fuel, insurance, Driver pay,and Truck payment) Expected Monthly profit $5000.00.

MM, I should say thanks, for when I have some one tells me what your telling me, I make it then. When someone tells me it can not be done, I do it. So thanks. For now I am sure I'll make it.

Putting a Driver in the truck more of a headache, yes, but I can put the truck on doing a job I physically can not do myself. Doing the 1099? Nope never even thought of doing that. Basically Illegal. Coastie done his homework.

What kills most people in Business is when they do make a bad choice, and they do not do anything to correct. I am doing something to correct. Time will come it will all come around.

You'll CLEAR $5,000 per month profit after expenses and having someone else drive it?:biggrin_25521:

Gee... all of a sudden, I think my truck's available for a gig like that!:biggrin_25526:

Not going to happen unless its ona special deal hauling super secret freight. If thats the case you better put a gag order on the driver so he doesn't tell anyone what kind of money he's making...:biggrin_2556:
As for the 1099, it isn't illegal unless what your gonna put the driver on someone is gonna tell him what to do. Coastie if you've done your homework you'd know paying all that your gonna pay for a driver not on a 1099 is gonna be painful, unless as stated above your hauling big $$$$ stuff.

Yeah when i heard clearing $5000 i rolled my eyes, :smt120 but it depends on the loads his has coming. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and if Coastie comes through I will be one jealous #######.:sad5: Maybe he has a future as a broker.

What I don't understand is if you can clear $5,000 with a driver in it why not drive it yourself and clear all of it?

I think the physical aspect of the job is just getting too much for Coastie - hence hiring help to get the work. People like to think of truck drivers as steering wheel holders (and unfortunately alot of them are) - but it's not the case. Anytime someone would like to work my hopper they'd be in for a workout in quick order, and the lesson would be learned.

    Ken Thanks this.
