I'm hoping someone can help confirm and clarify some things for me:
1. While all LX models have variable "dim" and "bright" settings, only the BT model has full backlit controls also, like the old NightWatch, correct?
2. Does the LX BT operate as a Bluetooth device only in speakerphone style, with the included mini mic, or can it also use the CB mic in PTT fashion?
3. If yes to #2, does anyone have experience using a decent mic modified for the BT, such as these Astatics?

4. If my thinking is correct on #1, are you reasonably sure that Cobra will eventually release a NightWatch version of the LX, that has the backlit controls of the BT, without such a hefty price tag?

Hmm just noticed they make a Chrome version of the 29. Anyone know if the controls on that are backlit?
-
They arent. Although the Uniden 68 and 78 ltw? and elite models have backlit controls and are the same as the cobra 25 and 29.
bbechtel16 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply. When you say the Unidens are the same, and I've read it before, what does that really mean? The boards and components are really identical? Some claim the Unidens are a little better?

I just bought wanna them Cobra Ltd 29 Nightwatch with the bluetooth, cause to me that other cobra bluetooth looks cheesy. But everyone has there own oppinions to it. I havent plugged mine in yet but im 90% sure that its like that ole night watch limited edition. Once I get it plugged into the truck I'll post some pics so you can have an idear of what she looks like.

The only difference i know is the knobs , other than that they are the same.

Sorry no pics, i will get some if you need them. I set the radio up in my dads truck and the thing looks killer. Its very simple to set your phone up to just plug in the external mic into the back of the radio, you will see it. And go into the settings on your phone. Overall its a very nice radio! And im slacking on the pics, i am sorry for that.

The BT is horrible. I have tried it with 2 cell phones and the sound quality was a joke.
Certainly no valid reason to buy this CB *just* for the BT feature.
You're better off buying a regular CB (Nightwatch or not) and a decent headset like Blue Parrot.
My Delphi radio also has BT built in for pairing. It was a cool feature to hear the cell ring over the stereo
speakers and see the callerID on the radio, but the sound quality was equal or worse than the Cobra CB. -
i have a 29 bt with an rfx-75 and dual 4 ft firesticks swr around 1:5:1 and i get out about 10 miles, now for the bluetooth feature its awesome with an iphone you can use siri and send texts answer calls and make calls without taking the phone out of your pocket
