If you feel like avoiding buying a special part you could find room in back to drill a hole and mount a BNC chassis jack. The UG174 sized coax from your WX board connects to the back of the SO through a coil matching section. Remove it from the SO and connect it to the BNC hot center, leaving the wire from the CB section on the SO. Now you have your regular CB coax connection, and a BNC to connect to the VHF WX antenna. Cheaper (all you buy is a BNC chassis jack for about a buck), better from a signal loss/efficiency standpoint, and so easy even a caveman can do it. This is the perfect way to go by the way.

Can this be done on a Uniden BC 880?

If so i would like to try it... currently have a Wilson 2000 trucker for the CB while it brings the weather in clean while the vehicle sits still one you move it fades in and out.

Have not seen one with the speaker cover off so cannot help you. A very careful look inside paying precise attention to my previous post should be able to provide the answer.

No give it up. While it may be possible it would be extremely difficult and a schematic and/or service manual would be required. Labor time tracing paths would be unreasonable.

I should clarify why: in the typical Cobra or Uniden model you have a single RF input coax going from the WX board to the back of the SO. In your case everything is on a single board, all surface mount and very difficult to separate.

I am a new driver starting my first driving job next month and I've been watching the threads on CBs and am getting a little overwhelmed with all the info. I don't think my company is going to allow me to drill into their new T680s so I am looking for a solution to get CB and weather without those kind of modifications...maybe antenna mounts? Anyway...can someone provide me a "shopping list" maybe of radio(s), antennas, diplexers (sp?) etc? for an entry level driver? I am not being lazy...I've read the forums and am "electronically impaired" (after all, I did flunk out of electronics school in the navy back in '80). Maybe handlebar weigh in on this? Thanks!!!!

I'm not sure what you are wanting, but there are several pretty good radios that have weather band built in them and should work with almost any antenna,. Dont the T680's come with an or mount built into the driver side mirror arm.. I'm sure the system installed in this truck isn't the highest quality but if it's new it may work pretty good. maybe you could stop and convince a shop to hook a radio up in the truck maybe with a cigarette lighter cord and screw an antenna in the mirror mount if there isn't one there already and just get a feel for it. See it the Radio with Weather built in it will do what you want it to. I don't know about all shops but I never had a problem doing this for drivers, give it a shot..

No CBs installed in my company's trucks...I have to buy my own. I am not looking for super high end or low end, but a good middle of the road radio-antenna combo.

A Uniden PC68LTW CB radio and a Wilson 2k trucker antenna with some RG8X coax will do you good. And make sure you have the antenna tuned for a low SWR of 2.0:1 or less.
