I have installed a cobra 29 LX in my 1991 f250 with a fire stick 4' antenna with 18' of coax. I tried to tune the SWR on the radios built in meter and I found that every channel had 1.3 SWR. So I thought that was weird due to that I just installed the radio. I then unscrewed the tuneable tip of the antenna and got all the same readings. There are no warning lights or anything. I have been playing with the height of the adjustment screw for a while and still have had no luck with the meter changing the SWR. Anyone have any suggestions what it might be? I have gone over the coax and have found no resistance. HELP!!

I wouldn't trust the radios built in swr meter I have rarely seen one give a accurate reading, you should invest in a decent swr meter and use that to check and set the swr. I have a Bearcat 980 and it gives a reading of 1.0 no matter what truck the radio is in ( semi or pickup ) or what antenna Im using.
