Jupiter, been doing some looking at them funny shapes on the paper that came with it and it's a modified sine wave.

It looks like you have the 1500 watt model. They claim certain electronic items won’t work with this inverter due to the modified sine wave. That’s kind of a red flag to me. That modified sine wave feature alone maybe inducing extra rf noise into your radio. Hopefully the extra ground wire will help.

Yeah, going to add the ground to it and see about routing the coax away from the battery cables and see what that does

Any thing to do with the radio should be as far from the inter as possible, I had to add mt own home brew filter between my radios and the truck after I added a 3500 watt Triplite inverter, Built out of caps and a full wave rectifier, it was exterme but it ended the ac traveling around the dc circuits.

Added a ground to the inverter and that helped it seems.

The coax is zip tied to the battery cables feeding the inverter. I cant reach the end to unscrew it from the antenna to re route it but it seems to have quieted down a significant amount with the grounding the inverter.

Yeah that's a good start, next is get rid of that physical connection with the power and coax lines. Also consider putting a couple chokes on the power cable to stop the line noise from traveling along the line.

As soon as I get it figured out how to get my big ### body wedged in between the cab and headache rack to get the cable loose I'll re route and see if it changes anything before I do chokes. If not I'll try chokes.
