I've been seeing these for sale at the truck stops lately. Anybody know if they're any good? As long as they receive and get out as well as the other ones I might buy one because they're significantly cheaper and I need a new CB.

It should work great if your antenna system is set up correctly.

It's the stock antenna that's built into the truck (Intertrashional).

Without connecting an antenna analyzer to the antenna, I would have no idea what to expect from it.

I don't know anyone who has one, but they look pretty decent as far as a cobra cb radio goes. But for about the same money (currently 40% off), I would recommend a Uniden 68ltx. I own a 68xl and it's a very good radio.

Jc1971, have you considered the Uniden XL 520 Pro ?

I'm not really a CB afficionado. The only CB I've ever owned is the Cobra 29 I bought in 2013. I don't know the difference between brands and models.

That's where Utube comes in handy. No better way to learn about a radio. Especially the CB Radio Magazines videos. They do a great job explaining the features of a radio.

I always liked my Cobra 29 LTD WX, once it was peaked & tuned it worked pretty well with 4' antennas. A friend of mine bought a little Cobra 25 for his pickup, and it didn't seem too powerful, but he had one of those little magnetic antennas, so that probably accounted for the short range. With two better antennas, the radio might have gotten out farther. It also makes a difference if your coax cable is laid out right... just my $.02 on that subject.

For everyday trucking purposes, a Cobra 29 LTD WX is fine... I always wanted a big ol' Galaxy chicken radio, but I had better things to spend my money on back in the day. Dirt bikes, small sailboats, that sort of thing, lol. But ya knew a hand had a "gen-yoo-wine chicken radio" when he could walk all over every lot lizard in OKC or West Memphis... some of those lot lizards had serious radios too, lol.

I used one of those for a while and it's a nice radio.
