New to the forum. Had to buy a truck to haul hay due to the drought here in Oklahoma. I haven't driven since I was 34, and now have to hit the road again to bring in hay for my cows
Rebuilt the rear suspension, now I'm starting on the front suspension.
Looking at the truck I can't really figure a safe way to support the front of the vehicle while removing the springs and axle.
The patient is an 88 coe 9670 that set me back $3800, and is rapidly approaching EIGHT GRANDTis what it tis I guess. Coulda bought a $10,000 truck and been doing the same repairs.
There is no clear frame beyond the front spring hangers, so there's nothing to place a jack under. Benind the rear hanger there's no clear frame to place a jack under without removing the fuel tanks, and possibly the air resivoirs.
The crossmember appears too weak to use as a lifting point.
All that's left is a pocket in the front spring hanger which seems to be able to accept 2" solid bar stock which can be used as a jacking point.
Anyone had some dealings with this particular problem??

I'll check out the motor mounts for a lift point. Thanks
First on the list today is replacing some exhaust pipe where it exits the turbo. Little bit of welding.
