Thought that tank looked long. Must be divided to separate the embalming fluid.
Is it considered hazardous, or any disposal reg problems?

    blairandgretchen and 650cat425 Thank this.

I have a 2019 389 with a coffin box. Pretty common in the heavy haul sector.

You guys have not gone far enough back into history to learn what was outlawed and why we have specific rules now. The common term for a coffin sleeper is a simple name for a small sleeper this day and age.

@jamespmack has it right. Those are coffin sleepers. Any sleeper that does not have access to it through the back of the cab is a coffin sleeper. The ones in the noses of trailers and under the trailers was a short lived scary deal just after WW2.

allthough the slang term was kept in use. 24” and 36” with access through the back of cab whether it be crawl in or walk in are not true coffin sleepers.

When I was a kid we had coffins which was just a missing back window you crawled through, then sit ins which were 36 inch bunks but the bed came all the way up to the full size opening. Then we had walk ins. Which were 63 inch with a full size opening........we weren't built for comfort

That was a crazy design all the way around. Ringsby and the original Navajo had Peterbilt build them the same spec as that Freightliner. The Cummins NH sat midship horizontal like a pancake under the body. Twin steer without power assist.

Sorry. That is one of the Two Petes built. There were a couple Freightliners that had more pics taken of them than the Petes that came a little later in that series.
