It's cold y'all, so I figured I'd start a thread where we can share tips & tricks to help make it easier & safer to work in the cold.
When hauling crude in cold weather, I keep the bowl heater on all throughout my shift, and I keep my test tubes half-full of varsol in the heater pockets with the switch on low. This makes the samples heat up to 140°F a lot faster.

Not sure if it made a difference, but I always had a few towels on top of my centrifuge like a blanket.

I never liked running the heat while driving, I usually just started heating the element when I stopped, but I actually do my oil testing and don't do it while I'm loading like most do.
