How much are you paying for rig insurance. The quotes i get are roughly 50 cents per every $100 in value. So like $500 a month on a &100,000 truck. Not cargo insurance but rig insurance

I pay $67 per week, truck valued around $65k, i lease on though and go thru them, not quite independent yet. Ooida quoted me around $320/month for physical damage before i realized i could with my company's.

    Hi insanityeight,

Are you talking purely physical damage for your rig, meaning comprehensive and collision, but nothing to do with liability? Is that correct?

Are you leased on or do you have your own authority?

Many who are leased on also go for Non-Trucking Liability (NTL or Bobtail insurance) which covers your liability when not dispatched (for example, driving a personal errand and causing an accident in an intersection with no cargo). This is the gap in coverage that the operating authority's liability insurance does not cover.
