Won’t make any difference. They’re screwed either way.

yeh its a funny old world. I recall as younger person going to Asia I was often stuck by how simple or stupid for want of a better word, the people often seemed. Especially around western things like cars, bikes, boats, electricity. But when I can home and watched, we did things just as stupid but in a different way. Both cultures socially accepting it as the norm right or wrong. I can be part of that crowd as well so not chucking stones.

I find the older I get the more I regress from culture. I don't seem to see it or get the wow factor out of it that most around me appear to get. Mindless ####, constant bickering, or just some gun looking for fame and profit. Its why I am here really, looking for a group that one feels half at home with. Bit sad though, looking for community behind a key board at 3.30AM from the other side of the world.

Even I'm pissed, and gutted for the girl at the same time and on the other side of the globe. Just so wrong. See you police are like mine however, just impossible to produce an apology and admit they had it so very wrong.

"We have to wait until the court cases are done with before taking employment action so we don't influence the court case"

I'm sure it was something like that. It's still total b.s. though. The court decides what is said in the court, and if the judge thinks it's prejudicial it would have never been brought up."

It's pretty standard practice that no employment action is taken until any civil actions are settled because employment actions are admissible in civil courts (at least in most states). Civil actions are typically put in a holding pattern so long as there are criminal charges, but prosecutors don't want to move forward with the criminal charges against a city employee while a civil suit is waiting in the wings so they drag their feet. Even in clear cut cases, it usually takes 2 years.

So then why did they fire her before the civil case was finished if that is the case? This is a criminal case, not a civil one.
