Completely agree. Do you think it was an abuse of authority or just plain stupid?

 

I hope it's just stupidity, but I suspect it's got a touch of inflated egos as well.

I honestly think this was both.

 

Ignorant people put into a place of authority where they didn't belong.

 

That happens alot.

 

Then think of the train crew. If that woman had been killed, they'd have to live with that guilt because of a couple dumb cops.

 

RxR company should go after the cops.

In this particular case they're probably changing their own.

The moment the suspect was arrested they became responsible for her safety.

That police department is screwed six ways to Sunday! In addition to possible civil rights lawsuits the railroad company can also sue them for damages to the train (and they have dashcams in those locomotives).
To say this is gross negligence,gross incompetence and dereliction of duty on a planetary scale is a understatement!!
And the fact that they were more focused on searching the truck instead of assisting with getting the lady out of the squad car!!
I hope the lawyers nail their a s s e s to the wall!
