I'm considering giving trucking a try, since I would imagine that if you keep your nose clean, you can keep rolling. I put in an application with Stevens, because they had a career day at the local library. I've heard stories, but some of the folks I talked with had pretty good experiences with them.
I don't expect to get paid too much to start, and I figure that I'm gonna have to pay my dues with just about any company, since I have no real experience. They say they will pay for my schooling for a year of service. No biggie there...I did military service, so I can do that.
The school they want me to go to is outside of Denver. I know of a school outside of Colorado Springs which is a bit closer, but am not sure the company will pay for it. Being currently unemployed, I am not flush with cash, so the "getting school paid for" is pretty necessary.
Any thoughts? Opinions?
