Does anybody use them? Which color works best? Where do you get them?

I take it you're talking about sun glasses.
I found and this is going to be a person choice but I've been wearing corrective lenses for many years. I've tried the rainbow and I setteled on one color and thats a brown color from Lens Crafter. Others have it but thats where my last two pair have come from. For some reason it sharpens the color of everything else even greens and blues.

The best advice I can give you is to ask your Doctor or eye galss people if they have samples that you can try on in the store or if you can walk outside and try. I did this and they had no problem as sunglasses work better in the....SUN! If it's just the round sample pieces that is what I did and took several outside of the mall and held them over my glasses. They also have clip ons that come in different colors.

The winning reason I like this color is that even in the snow it cuts glare but doesn't look like I'm looking through color at all but a darker shade of the real world and not rose, blue, or green!

OH! you CAN to into an eyeglass place and order glasses even if you don't need them!

I just wish I could have gotten my Wiley-X Riding glasses http://www.wileyx.com/index.aspxin the same color but I had to go with the phase change for day to night riding. I would use my regular sunglasses for street riding but when heading on a road trip I'd put on my goggles! They did not have Bronze in the change style when I ordered my goggles or I would have gotten it! The color in the catalog is "Bronze." A nice note about these glasses is if you get the "ballistic" lenses they are rated better than OSHA for safety glasses! They are used on firing ranges, police and in the sandbox by our men and women fighting overseas!

But again research but don't go with someone saying OH WOW these are the best! Everyone's eyes are different!

I like the polarized "Blue Flash" lenses... I started wearing those when I was running Eisenhower twice a week in the winter, and they really cut the glare. Not only the glare off fresh snow and ice, but that blinding glare that hits ya when the sun banks off wet pavement... that glare is the worst, in my opinion, especially on a sharp mountain curve with a four-wheeler alongside your truck. I tried the amber and rose lenses before going with the blue... the old Suncloud rose-colored lenses weren't bad, but the blue lenses really minimized the glare in my eyes. I know people's eyes differ, so they may not be the best choice for another driver, but they work for me and I'll never go back to anything else. That's my $.02 on colored lenses... 'nuff said. :biggrin_2558:

P.S. Forgot to mention that you can get this option even if you don't wear prescription lenses... ask if the store carries sunglasses with polarized "Blue Flash" lenses.

i use Ray Ban for daytime, with a dark lens, then for night time, i just bought a pair of Ray Ban "shooter's glasses" with a yellow lens.....this will cut down the glare from oncoming headlights.

I like the shooters glasses. The yellow lenses. You have to be careful tho; it can get dark and you still think its daylight.:biggrin_25523: Funny thing is they work get in the sun as well. Sometimes I switch off to a real dark pair tho.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking into yellow for night driving, but I didn't want to spend a lot and be disappointed or spend a little and not get the best result.

Yellow for night driving works fine, but amplifies glare. Yellow during the day is like getting your eyes stabbed with an icepick.

I use very light blue tint on my prescription glasses - got the ".5" tint at Walmart - really cuts down on glare, also helps with flourescent lights.

Cheapest ones I have found for the yellow glasses, was at Walmart sport's department. The brand they use to sell was Smith&Wesson, now they are Winchester safety glasses.

I wore yellow a lot during the day. It did not cause me any glare.

As I said different eyes different results!
As I suggested go and ask for the sample round glass and take them out side and check them out!
Then go and get your glasses! I'll bet that if you pay real money for them you won't leave them sitting somewhere!
You can also have your name embossed in the ear pieces!
