Started working for Combined Transport in October. home for the first time. a lot of training to haul glass. had two great trainers. they took the time to teach me what I needed to know how to do my job safely, not just to use me as a way to get extra miles. Combined seems to care about its driver. I hope this works and can call it home.

Recruiter.
-
why does everybody think its a recruiter every time somebody says something positive about a company.
TDriver4Life, keepitsimple, dale love and 1 other person Thank this. -
all drivers are recruiter if they like where they are working. and find someone they would not mind having as a coworker.
dale love Thanks this. -
No I'm not a recruter but I did drive for combined for 5 yrs. They do care about their drivers and is for the most part a co. to drive for. The reason I left is because they took away detention, layover pay and reduced the per mi pay by a couple cents. It was a very lucrative job at one time, and if the economy picks back up it will be again as they raise their pay scale back to where it was! I would go back to work for them!

Things are still good here at combined. getting lots of miles.

I also put in about 5 yrs with Combined. Had to quit because Im a single parent and 6 wks out with the heavy haul was too much. Its a great place to work and the ppl (most) are great.

Gotta question here; I've been driving for 9 years and have always wondered how the glass does not break from the beating it takes going down the road. I know how I feel after a day of driving in an air ride seat, how does that glass not shatter?
-
I'm not a glass hauler but years ago I was pulling dry vans and had a dispatch screw up on the companies part. Long story short Cardinal Glass told me they only ship glass on trucks and trailers with air ride suspension.
