2nd day in orientation everything is great so far. Instructor is professional and relaxed.
-
How was the first day. What all did they do? And was it hard ?
-
First day went by fast, started out filling out forms a few slideshows, road test/pretrip. You get a dot physical and also have to do your pre work screen which consisted of getting in and out of trailer three times properly lifting a series of different weight from foot to chest level, squatting for 30 sec, and your pull tests downward and pull towards you. It was pretty easy overall. Staff here are all respectful and courteous.
-
They pretty strict on those tests?
-
Day 2:
So far today, we have had numerous slideshows covering policies, harassment, hours of service, elogging, paper logs, a few paper tests and now lunch. Will let you know more after. -
Yeah they were pretty easy. We only lost one guy for physical strength. The road test is pretty easy. Consisted of 8 miles.
-
What he wasn't strong enough ? What's the pull test ?
-
I'm not sure on what part he failed but the pull test is like a scale hooked to the wall with a cable attached to it with a bar and you have yo be able to pull downward at 150lbs and and pull to you around 75lbs
-
You can fail by not being able to perform the activities or by exceeding your maximum heart rate.
