You never will hear the good in trk drivers unless they're a hero and even then not much is said about that and soon forgotten. Not any different then trucking companies, all they see is all bad.
Hi patty, big 10-4. Just like motorcycle and snowmobile accidents, you don't hear of the millions that ride safely.
Wow, almost 300 replies, do I get an award or something?:biggrin_25514:
i got an idea, no cars in left lanes, trucks only in left lanes, get rid of the carpool lane and use the interstates for what they were intended, to move freight across the country, then u wont have trucks runnin into cars at least on the interstate. then all u would be investigating is a truck running into another truck. a guy can dream cant he lol

Gonna have to agree with you on this one. My current company truck ('14 Prostar) has the newer version of OnGuard and it's more trouble than it's worth. So are some of the other "safety" systems built into new trucks. For example, if you're in gear going down a hill and you exceed whatever speed is set in the system (on my truck it's 65-66mph) the jake kicks in on max regardless of the jake switch position and (more importantly) regardless of road conditions. Same with the brake applications by OnGuard... quick, hard brake applications regardless of any rain/snow/ice in the road. I personally know of a couple drivers who have had accidents because of these "safety" features and frankly it scares the crap out of me that my truck has the ability to remove my control inputs from any given situation.

Are you seriously trying to attack the victim here? One of the 5 people who were not at the controls of a CMV but injured anyway due to someone's mistake? You need to check yourself driver, this isn't necessary. And just because he probably has the money to fly doesn't mean it makes sense (1h45m by road and probably the same by air when you factor in travel to/from he airports and time on the ground) or that everyone who has that kind of money HAS to travel the way you think they should.
