Is this "Joanie" to which you refer Joan Claybrook, who left the NHTSA in 1981... and Public Citizen in 2008...?

Unlike you, I am not going to be rash in assessing blame.

There is most likely more to the story that we know. I do not trust the media on this. I also doubt the twitter feed. I know very few people that twitter with their real name, and have seen many "fake" ones appear.

I do not know what the miles before may have been so, I do not judge.

You are young and what if something came up and you ended up kind of in the same boat. You want thrown to the wolves and everyone to pass judgement like it has been on this thread?

I am not saying he was right or wrong. But, you went after him badly.

I have been on the road many years commercially and others. I have seen bad drivers in many ways. I sincerely doubt you are as perfect as you try to project.

Remember, Karma can be a bad deal.

It's a rear end accident. That's all anyone has to know.

So, if someone moves to the front of the truck and slams on the brakes and you hit them. Glad to know, since it is a rear end accident, you gladly take the blame.

Got to love the know it alls.

Derailed, RedForeman and ewill71 Thank this.

Ok RM...back in '03 I had a lady cut me off in front of my pick-up and then she brake-checked me....Irregardless....Since I hit her from behind...I was "at-fault" according to CHP and the insurance companies.....

So now what....Can I blame her stupidity for something I was supposed to be watching for in the first place?....

I doubt if it went to a jury trial...I or anyone else in the similar situation would win....

He or she who rear-ends another....Is by law..."At-Fault"....
Perhaps we should change the law?....

    77smartin and joseph1135 Thank this.

You would win with a dash cam that proved you were cut off and brake checked. Otherwise no you will neve win. It's gotten to the point where I realize I need to invest in one

It's a "crash", at least until someone provides evidence of "accident".

You seem to imply there is no such animal as an unavoidable rear-end crash, which seems to suggest no knowledge of the "swoop and squat".

    ewill71 and Lepton1 Thank this.
