It's possible I guess.. I never stayed up more than 24 hours. But the legislation for 'Maggies law' was passed because the driver of the car was on crack, and it was the drug that kept him up and then caused the crash/sleep side effects. So the legislation shouldn't apply to the truck driver unless he was on some kind of amphetamine like crack cocaine.

The legislation really benefits the system, if NJ really cared about safety they would regulate the amount of cars and trucks on the road.

Yes, he was definitely right all the way, and I've been in that position. The STAA legislation is the only legislation that I know of that actually protects the driver.

BS, they don't have to plan their welfare route. Wallyworld helps them sign up.

hmm, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?!. You don't even know all the facts but yet you've convicted and sentenced him, off some news organizations ratings driven report. This wouldn't even be a blip on the radar screen if it wasn't some celebrity whom i've never heard of before. Who's to say the driver of other vehicle didn't cut wm driver off and slam on the brakes. Years ago i rear ended another vehicle and was found not guilty didn't even receive a citation.

Pray tell, how would they enforce such laws? Pull over motorists and tell them, "I'm sorry sir/ma'am, but you are car # 10,501. The limit is 10,500. Please wait here until the people in front of you get home"?

I wasn't aware he "incriminated himself". Perhaps you would be kind enough to provide a link to this blockbuster report?

In Korea and some European countries they tried to limit vehicles by the ending digit of their license plate. Odd numbers get to drive on odd dates and even digits get to drive on even dates. Theoretically this should cut the number of vehicles in half. Effectively in Korea I think it resulted in about a 30-40% reduction.
