Yes, I absolutely know people are sitting around talking about how to work less, and get more handouts.

That's not to say there aren't WalMart Associates that absolutely need Government assistance. There are lots of retirees and disabled supplementing their Social Security benefits legitimately. No one in my area hires more seniors, and physically/or mentally disabled people then our WalMart does. There are people working at WalMart here that would simply be unemployable if not for WalMart providing the opportunity.

It makes sense that these people wouldn't abandon a program that they have been paying into, or relying on for years. They may not even be capable of doing their job tomorrow because of unexpected, or advancing health issues. I applaud WalMart for working with Associates that have legitimate scheduling, and physical limitations.

It really doesn't work that way, and it is a poor example of a free citizen..

I don't agree with all laws either but until they're changed there's little one can do. There are a lot of trucking companies i.e. that don't believe in purchasing overweight permits. They don't care if their driver has legal problems later on. Those companies don't think they're doing anything wrong but they are. If our government allows a motor carrier to increase their profits then they need permission, and need to pay for the permit since the extra tonnage wears the roads down quicker. That would be the reason for the permit, which is reasonable and legitimate.

If however, the price of that permit is unreasonably high then it is the responsibility of the carrier to address it to the state. But when one defies the law out of greed, or disregard for others, then they are the ones who are wrong, not the state. Maybe you would like to explain what laws related to our occupation are not legitimate and what are legitimate. Since every government is a reflection of it's people we all have a duty to speak out against rouge laws that were written for profit. Defying them on ones own accord will only result in more severe laws based on entrapment.

We are being exploited through cheap products and additives in our foods, which results in more loads being delivered, thus increasing traffic as we chase our tails for nothing. That's why we need regulations in the market that ensure quality products and natural foods free from chemical additives that prevent us from satisfying our appetites, which in turn create a market demand for more food and brings unnecessary negative health effects. If we lived right our roads would not be overcrowded and accidents would be extremely rare.

Good grief. How in the hell did this thread end up where it is now? I don't even want to know ... but it's funny and entertaining to read what motivates some people.

generally hos rules. If i'm tired i sleep if i don't feel good i stop. How they can regulate an individual when everyone has their individual sleep patterns. I drive at night and have for years. If at any point i feel fatigued i stop and nap. Could care less what hos regs say. I'm responsible for my own safety and safety of others that share the road with me. Personal responsibility!. Now with that said, current hos rules are not as flexable as they use to be prior to 2004 under the old 8,10,15,70 rule where you could stop the clock and take a nap etc. Most nights i drive my 700 mi without being tired when done other nights i might get a 100 mi down the road and be tired after just getting up from a 6-8 hr nap.

That wm driver will be used as an example to get bogus regs on the books by the safety advocates. And get insurance limits raised. It's not about safety. If it was we wouldn't have mega fleets making new drivers after 90 days or less trainers. We would have comprehensive training standards in place!. It's all based on greed!. They won't be happy until this industry is micro managed to the point of you can't make a move on or off duty without them knowing it!. They want us to drive 9-5 and be home every weekend. Drivers like me that prefer to drive overnight are a big safety risk according to fmcsa's own studies. Because i don't conform to the normal persons circadian rhythm. Sleep apnea that's a joke!. While yes it's serious and i agree if you have it get it treated. I had to go pay for a sleep study because medical examiner swore i had it. Over $2500.00 later and 12 days i found out i didn't have it. How convenient they just happen to work with a sleep lab attached to the same bldg. Talk about a money grab. Was told and i quote "you have to have it your bmi says you do". Hmmmm i'm the same weight i was when i retired from u.s. Army. So yes it's all about money!!!!.

It is public record and easily viewed that wallyworld associates and their dependents are the largest pool of all social programs recipients (welfare) in America. Look it up.

Actually that is oft misquoted statement.. The study quoted is based in analysis of one single store in Wisconsin. Any and many retailers have a certain percentage of their workforce is not promotable... Walk into a Home Depot, target, publix, etc and you will find the cousins of the people at walmart.
