~ TV
Don't buy a TV from a truck stop as you will get ripped off. Buy one at Walmart. A 19" LCD TV will fit in most, if not all trucks.
~ DVD player + DVD collection
~ PS2, PS3 or Xbox + a nice game collection to keep you busy
~ A computer
Again, like TV's don't buy a computer at a truck stop either. Walmart, Bestbuy, etc would be your best bet. You also want a WiFi card, as not everywhere you stop at offers public WiFi. I have one through Verizon on a pay-as-you-go plan.
~ A refrigerator
~ A microwave
~ A 2,000 watt or higher DC to AC inverter
~ 800 thread count sheets with a comforter
These are the items I have in my truck. Yes, I did spend quite a bit of money but living in my truck is quite comfortable. Layovers are part of the industry, and you're going to have alot of down time. Might as well have some form of entertainment.

Conway Freight I know has Sat radio in there trucks, KLLM used to i dont think they do anymore. Other then these two i dont know of any others that do.
My Company Watkins Shepard is the only company that i know that supplies CB's, most of use dont use them and take them out there just cheap Cobra19's.
With 99% of OTR companies you get a Empty Truck only thing that should be in there is a mattress, 3 triangles, 1 fire Exstiusher, sometimes its been cleaned sometimes there NASTY, sometimes there is a new mattress sometimes its so gross you dont even wanna touch it...
Everything else you want is up to you to supply.

I assume if I come across a mattress I dont want to sleep on I can put my own in??
-
just ask for a new one, they should replace it, if not find a better job lol
if you really wanted to you can buy your own, but thats not something a driver should have to pay for

The thing is ,treat like you as if you were still home, only scale it down too fit your truck

When looking for a company then what types of trucks should I look for the company to be running?? I am guessing there are pros and cons to all trucks but in general which are the companies that people say have better trucks??
-
You should be looking for trucks that run. It's really a crap shoot. There's no way to know what kind of condition your first truck will be in. You may luck out and get a newer truck but probably not. No, your first truck is likely going to be a POS until you prove you can drive a couple months without tearing it up.
chompi Thanks this.
