Aren't all truck drivers on a sliding pay scale? Some weeks, the pay slides to the NOT-QUITE-POOR side of the spectrum. Other weeks, the pay slides to the DEFINITELY-IN-THE-POOR-HOUSE slide of the spectrum.![]()

yeah, I dont expect to make 900 a week right out of the gate, and something like the GLR would be great, id like to run regional with hometime ever week, but id also like to have the option of taking a longer load if I want, or being able to run in the south during winter if I want, all of which the nice lady recruiter tells me is possible..lol..and even though I have my CDL I have been considering taking swifts driving school in memphis because its been 10 years, does anyone have any thoughts on the school good or bad?..worth it or not?

Yes it is Kris who I have been talking to, seems like a pretty straight shooter, and doesnt try and dance around questions, which is nice..she doesnt care much for answering questions by email though..LoL..of course I ask a ton of stuff so its easier for her to just talk to me on the phone, anyhow I think I have decided that after thanksgiving (at the earliest) I am going to go and try to go to school in Memphis, although I might wait till after christmas, I dont want to go 3 weeks with no income right before the holidays or get stuck at the school for christmas, as Im sure my kids would be pretty devistated if Santa didnt make a good showing for them, I was pretty sure that I would run into flak from my family and friends, but seems that everyone is supporting me (My wife is a little concerned, but accepting)..one things for sure its going to get really tight money wise for a couple months while I go to training, but once I start with a trainor $450 a week is more than Im making now, so It should straighten out fairly quickly..anyway thanks guys for answering questions and being nice..=}

Had an interview with the local flatbed company last saturday, Sounded good, like he wants me to come work for them, but he hasnt called me yet, he did say he was going to be in chicago this week, so I'm hoping that its just that hes been busy this week, and not that something came up bad ( I cant think of anything that would)..Patience is a virtue that I lack sometimes..lol
