I drove for swift for almost two years before I quit on my home time in May
I haven't no bad history with them and pretty much always got along with everyone
My question is if I call them tomorrow tomorrow n ask to come bacc am I likely to get rehired
And how long?
Reason I quit was because of their lack of dedicated routes where I live(Dallas) it's either dollar tree or overnight jcpenny
Coming back to a company after quitting

Megas won't hesitate to rehire you. Pretty much all other trucking companies won't take you back unless you give at least 2 week notice
WildTiger1990 and DAX_ Thank this. -
Try a different company.
Don't laugh, but TransAm has a Texas Regional that pays a guaranteed minimum $900.00 weekly.
I think FFE (Frozen Food Express) has some dedicated lanes.
XPO Logistics has some dedicated lanes.Wargames, Metallica88, VIDEODROME and 2 others Thank this. -

If you don’t mind flatbed work, Maverick is hiring dedicated glass out of Corsicana. You’ll have to do securement training, but you’ll be doing only glass hauling. Home every week. They load giant sheets of glass on frames secured to your stepdeck and you’ll secure it, pull the tarp over it like a curtain and tie it shut. Haul ###, don’t break the glass. Pretty simple really. Swift has a ton of dedicated in that area.DAX_ Thanks this. -
And yes trans am has Texas regional reefer for 900 per week. Don’t let them talk you into a .84 per mile lease. Otherwise, t680, flat screen, satellite, nfl Sunday ticket... it’s reefer so you’ll get plenty of downtime to use that stuff lol

The 1st job I had was food service with a huge turnover rate and pay was low compared to all other food places. The last straw was getting to my back haul and told we can load you until 11am tomorrow (it was 730pm). Didnt help that the boss thought he was king tut. Had words with him a few times and if you know me, I'm the quiet guy cool as cucumber, it takes a lot to piss me off.
Anyways after slinging 45,000 of food that was it I headed out of jersey city back to Binghamton and said here's your truck I'm done. My helper quit a week later. Think city p&d is hard go out with a 48 loaded to the hilt, no lift gate and pallet jack, no no not here. You get a 2 wheeler and a ramp. Oh and if you want a helper you don't get full pay like 35% they take, how nice. 2 trips a week Binghamton ny and run down to Baltimore and peddle the loop.
Got hired back a yr later on my terms and conditions with the route I wanted. If I wasn't a good worker they wouldn't of taken me back. The 2 dispatchers loved me I got the job done w/o any hand holding.
I was 21 @ the time now looking back I would of done things a bit more professional. -
I quit Werner on hometome and they keep calling me to come back. Lol
VIDEODROME Thanks this. -
Move on. I quit a company, and came back once. I was assured things had gotten better, which they hadn't. Before long, you'll see, nothing has changed, even possibly worse, because you lost what little, if any seniority you may have gained. The company may always give you the bottom of the barrel loads because you already quit once.
