HI, starting my school on the 27th of july.. with Ivy tech/sage community college in Muncie, IN... looking into companies... and have pre approved with Werner... reading threads and looking at everything. I have my tanker endorsment and hear theres good money in it.. but do I want to start out driving tanker, I dont think it would be wise, so think getting exp first with just driving and learning the ropes out there would be the right thing to do.. One local guy told me he would hire me and pay 30% of whatever the truck made.. but he doesnt have any kind of med ins. so thinking of starting outwith a bigger company. any suggestion would be nice.

I don't have much (if any) more experience than you so I can't offer much advice. I think the standard advice is if you go OTR with a large company it at least gets you some experience so then you can really go job shopping.
