Well, I finally my invitation to orientation today.
I will be there next Friday the 22nd and start orientation on the 24th. I was almost ready to go to Swift.
I am excited to be invited and can only hope I do well at orientation with the abilities test and of course the other tests as well. -

Good Luck and let us know how it goes. -
Thanks guys. I will try to keep you posted on my progress. I know that sometimes the posts about orientation and training get kind of old and redundant but The more it is posted the better us new guys can be prepared for what to expect.
I fly into LR on Friday (only flight I could afford) and will be at the Maverick motel Fri night and Saturday before starting orientation on Sunday Morning @7 a.m. Mon will be Dot and agility testing. If I get through the agility part, I think I have it made. Thanks for the well wishes.
Doyneraetnrunner Thanks this. -
What is the latest?

Today I fly from DC to LR to get in for orientation. I have been packing and getting ready. I realize that I need several things for my truck when I finish with the trainer and I also realize that I wont be able to carry as much as I would like. So I have to trim some things out. Question, I am going into the reefer division. Do I need my insulated overalls? They take a lot of room in my bag. Going on a plane limits me to some extent but the trainers truck will have limited space so I have to respect that. Taking 6 days clothing, laptop, bedding and a few personal items. Amazing how much space it takes to pack so little. Down to 2 bags and the laptop. Ready to go, I think.

I don't think you will need the overalls in TCD. It will take you longer to get them on than it will to actually walk back and swing doors.
After you finish with your trainer they will route you straight home in your truck if you want. From what I'm hearing from a couple guys from my class they are taking like a week off once they get home. My FM told me I could take 2 weeks if I wanted, I just had to tell him when I was ready.
Don't worry about bringing a ton of stuff for your truck. You can get it when you go back home for the first time. -
Cool. Thanks for the help Razor.

I made it to LR and am camped out in the hotel. Pretty basic but not bad really. I will spend the day tomorrow getting acclaimed to the area and maybe do some shopping at WallyWorld. Looking forward to the week ahead.
