Some of these are just to funny not to share

Big Brother Boxes are a bad idea because the DOT cannot be trusted with the BrotherBox data. DOT falsifies logbook violations. When drivers submit logs showing hours driven and distances traveled, DOT calculates average speed for the day. If the average speed exceeds 60 MPH, a logbook violation is recorded against the driver for speeding. Many interstates have speed limits of 65 to 75 MPH for long distances, so driving the speed limit makes DOT-falsified speeding (called also-speeding) very common. This DOT behavior does five things. First, DOT-falsified speeding (also-speeding) inflates any data DOT reports about the number of logbook violations, thus invalidating that data. Second, DOT's creating logbook violations from nothing shows DOT can't be trusted with access to drivers' information; DOT's falsifying these records are not innocent mistakes, but willful, consistent, ongoing, and determined wrongdoing. Third, every DOT-falsified logbook violation shows DOT's willingness to make innocent citizens out to be lawbreakers for driving the speed limit (welcome to Ray LaHood's Orwellian universe). Fourth, it shows DOT's confidence that actual logbook violations are too few to justify Mr. LaHood's unlawful proposal the data has to be cooked to make the problem look a lot bigger than it is. Fifth, this willing, consistent, determined falsification of records causes legitimate doubt about the meaning of other data DOT reports.

Eobr should be illegal. it is an invasion of ones ability to manage time wisely as an independent operator. it interferes with my safety as businessman. the 14 hour rule in the hos makes the unlikely hood of success with the incorporation of Eobr a certain bankuptable or slow death of a truck owner. their is no proof of safety using Eobr. proof is of accidents of vehicles using Eobr watching YouTube. this is a scam for a guaranteed money maker for the stockholder or invested interest holder for a monthly fee collected by the commercial industry. You should be ashamed of yourselves for slamming the very people that are serving America with pride and integrity by being away from their families and in world deviations. You will abuse the information as well by emergency situations and by then you have abused our trust that we won't care and let this country suffer. thanks. to much government interference is not good. education is best.

Hello, I am a single truck owner with my own authority, first of all other things I am tired of being lumped in with large fleets. I am the only responsibility I have so it makes it pretty easy to keep track of what I am doing or have been doing, unlike a large fleet where they have so many trucks they need to hire a safety manager etc... I hope you get the point... when did we become so sophisticated we could tell by how many hours someone has worked or not worked as to how fatigued they might be anyone of you sitting there behind that little desk of yours can answer that question for me then I obviously have been praying to the wrong God! Who do you think you are? I personally could sleep 56 hrs start driving and need a nap 2 hrs into my trip. Oh crap I can't take one because I only have 14 hrs to work and the load needs to be there in the morning and I need to make sure I take a full 10 hrs off so I can do it all over again...but wait I am now out of hrs and the shipper won't let me stay on the property to take my break what do I do now? Guess that part doesn't matter as long as I haven't acceded my 14/70 work parameter that some bureaucratic bonehead thought would make everything safer! So while I'm pulled over in the cross Bronx expressway taking my 30 min brake can I idle my truck or do I have to shut down after 5 mins like I'm required normally? Hey here's an idea let's give oil field workers an exemption from waiting time because that's nothing like the 7 hrs I just spent at the dock for one pallet to be off loaded that cost me 200.00 that I logged on duty not driving even though I was sleeping in my ever so comfortable sleeper birth that you expect me to awake from all bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to take on another exciting 14 hrs of auto drivers talking and testing cutting us off and causing accidents that waste more of my time.... I get it we are suppose to act like professional drivers just don't think like a professional right?

I vote we have public comment session's about general trucker gripes and have the voice over guy from the movie theater read them on that insipid "truckers channel" on Sirius. Hell at least then it would have entertainment value. I wonder if they understand comments about EOBR's?? Not the "I want to whine about my life on public record" comment period.

All of those are responses to requests for comment by the FMCSA on preventing driver harassment by use of EOBR's.

They are a matter of public record and I find them quite entertaining.

Oh there are some well reasoned comments made. But you have to wonder if some of the public perception of the industry comes from comments like that.

I could care less about harssment! I have a problem that it would violate my right to privacy and my right to not potentially incriminate myself if I was to happen to violate one of the great rules.
You don't give up your rights just cause you drive a truck, you only give them up when you're to weak minded to keep them.
And I have seen it for fact states and goverenment do try and cover lies with more lies. After telling the ohio aag that report was falsified and asked for investigation, his response was maybe he'd have found the violation anyway?
It's ok for your worshipped ones to break the law?
I'd take 90% of the power they have now if it was my choice.
Now do tell us how safe we're going to be??

to whom it may concern. if you think that the rule for the eobr will stop the harassment of drivers by the DOT. you are out of your mind.they do what they want and drivers have no way to battle it. the wide use of the eobr will drive the price of consumer goods through the roof. driver pay will go down to poverty levels.( which its about there now). i used to make over 2 thousand dollars a week in this industry. now im lucky if i can bring home 500 dollars in the same week doing more work than i did before. when is this going to stop? nuclear power plants dont even have the number of regs we do. when is the goverment going to let me run my business as i see fit? all you do is tell us how to run or companies. if you want to control the trucking industry so badly, why dont you buy the trucks and run the dam thing. you could call it "Uncle sam's transport" then you can put the homeless people in the trucks and have cheaper labor then we have now. just let it be, let us run our companies as we see fit. one size does not fit all here. i really used to love trucking. but since you have your nose so far up my ### its more like working in hell and the fmcsa is Satan himself.
