I have a decision to make and would like any/all comments. I am down to 2 companies to choose from, CR England or Stevens Transports. I have to choose 1 of them by Tuesday 22 July. I only want to be a company driver for a couple years to get the feel of OTR before commiting to a O/O program. I do have a past felony on my record from 1994. These are the only companies who took interest in me. Any/all comments about which would be the better of 2 evils to work for would be greatly appreciated.
Comments please!!!

Welcome aboard. I would say that Stevens would be a better choice the CRE. Stevens will let you stay company with no pressure to go lease while it is my understanding from talking to CRE drivers that they will want you in a lease as soon as possible. Good luck to you.
jar_head_johnny Thanks this. -
My brother and his now wife drove for CRE for years as company drivers, but that was a few years ago. Things may have changed with them now, but he didn't have any issues with them.
I have definetly read a lot more bad about them, than I have Stevens. Are the benefits about the same? -
If you go with stevens you will be running as a team with another student, I believe england is solo unless you want to team. england trains you with a trainer.

Didn't Swift take interest in you?

I've talked to a few Stevens Drivers. They all say that they loved the miles but wanted to go home more. Stevens stays out a long time, they were up front with me about this when I talked to there recruiters a few years ago. I have never really talked to a CRE driver. Another plus to Stevens is that they have really nice trucks. Once you go solo you could do a lot worse than a T2000.
